Curriculum

Our comprehensive structured and interactive curriculum is centred on the belief that all children are strong, competent and capable learners who are full of wonder and curiosity. It is built to develop our children’s social dispositions and help them acquire skills and knowledge.

Our Berry MathTM curiculum is developed based on the UK award-wining mathemetics program for kids – Growing With Mathematics (GWM). The teaching petegogy of this system views children as Active Learners who construct their own mathematical understanding through interacting with their environment and their peers and embedded teacher’s support. GWM uses a variety of materials and manipulatives in order for children to learn essential math concepts. GWM gives children the opportunity to learn basic math skills through music and movement, games, story problems, hands-on manipulatives, and small-group math activities.

Berry EnglishTM curriculum includes monthly theme talk, dramatic play, as well as a world-renowned phonique program – Letterland. It is a unique, phonics-based approach to teaching reading, writing and spelling to 3-8 year olds. The Letterland characters transform plain black letter shapes into child-friendly pictograms and they all live in an imaginary place called Letterland. Simple stories about the Letterland characters, explain the full range of dry phonics facts so that children are motivated to listen, to think and to learn. These stories explain letter sounds & shapes, allowing children to progress quickly to word building, reading and writing.

Berry ChineseTM focuses on developing and enhancing your child’s Chinese language communication skills, particularly in listening, speaking, reading and writing. Through fun and interactive lessons, your child will be exposed to drama, games, rhymes, chants, songs, music and movement to deepen his/her understanding of the elements of the Chinese language. With practice and a lot of encouragement, your child will be empowered with the confidence to communicate in Chinese in his/her day-to-day life.

Children’s discovery of the world begins with active involvement in what is going on in their immediate environment.

Berry ScienceTM is based on a sense of wonder and joy of discovery. Instead of expecting children to understand logical and scientific concepts, the emphasis is on allowing children to apply inquiry or process skills such as observation, prediction, investigation and drawing conclusions in their learning experiences.

Our carefully crafted Berry Character EducationTM module helps children develop a positive sense of themselves in relation to their peers. With a good sense of self identity, they learn to manage their emotions and behaviours, which in turn, hep them to build positive relationships with others and make responsible decisions. When they experience success in completing a task with others and enjoy the satisfaction of being able to contribute positively, they will be more willing to cooperate and collaborate with others.
